this is the turte pond, at the central park in new york
this is a really beautiful place. very serene, this pond is situated in the midst of a hurried city, almost on top of an almost incomprehensible subway system... who would expect to find something this tranquil a few blocks away from all the noise and blinding lights at the times square. was truly awesome being there and for several minutes, i could only sit there and be quiet. i don't know what i must have thought but i probably said "wow" to myself over and over like i often do when i get overwhelmed with beauty or majesty. looking at the pictures of the pond, i am now reminded of this song:
